Why a permanent shop matters
The hail leaves. The trucks leave. We don't.
Every spring, crews from other states set up in hotel lots and knock on doors. Some do fine work — then they're gone before the supplement is paid or the follow-up is needed.
Our shop is on Kaw Drive in Edwardsville. When golf-ball hail came through our own zip code on August 19, we were already here. We'll be here for the next one, too.
- Real street address & bays
- Reviews you can verify on Google
- Insurance paperwork handled
- KC dealers & body shops, year-round

Storm-chaser red flags
- Someone knocks on your door or leaves a flyer offering hail repair
- Pressure to sign today or lose your spot
- A request for payment up front
- No itemized, written estimate
- A promise to “cover” your deductible with no explanation of how
Before you sign
Five questions to ask any shop
- 1What’s your street address, and how long have you been there?
- 2Where can I read your reviews — on Google, not your own site?
- 3Who handles the warranty if something shows up in six months?
- 4Will you file the supplement if my insurer’s estimate is short?
- 5Can I get a written, itemized estimate before any work starts?
What happens when the truck leaves
“Hail chasers” are repair crews that travel from storm to storm. Many are skilled — the risk is what happens after the repair. A dent that settles, a supplement approved weeks later, a re-inspection for your insurer: if the crew is three states away, those become your problem.
We were in Edwardsville before the March storm, through April, and when the August 19 hail came through our own zip code. We’ll be here for the next one. See the 2026 hail reports.
Already signed with a traveling crew? Read what you signed, ask for a written itemized estimate, and don’t pay up front. If you have concerns, call your insurer before work starts.
